There’s snow stopping Andy…

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

January’s beautiful white blanket may have been the perfect excuse for the rest of the nation to take a few days off, but Andy and Woody were undeterred and battled into the workshops from Faulkland to keep the Ironart cog wheels turning.  There were very few people out and about on the roads on this particular day and we felt very smug  as four of us set out from Faulkland through the winter wonderland in a 4×4 armed with shovel, a thermos flask and lots of thermal underwear!

The snow gave Nic the perfect excuse to try out her whizzy new Christmas camera on all the wrought iron in the garden…

Kate Lucas soft furnishings – handmade bespoke upholstery, curtains and blinds

Kate Lucas has made beautiful cushions and seat pads for our wrought iron seating collection which make all the difference when exhibiting at shows and events. See Ironart’s cafe chairs featuring Kate’s tailored blue polka dot seat cushions.

Kate  provides a wide range of soft furnishings including traditionally made curtains, roman blinds and cushions. “I can provide a start to finish service, from sourcing fabrics, assisting with individual design, handmade or machine made interiors, accompanied with any fitting requirements. ”

Kate has a fantastic eye for colour and detail, she comes highly recommended by us and everyone else she has worked for locally. Her workshops are situated on the Lavender farm in Faulkland, and we really love her work.

Looking forward to the Bath Spring Flower Show 2010

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

With Christmas out of the way, and the snow disruptions behind us we’re full steam ahead planning our Spring diary with the Bath Spring Flower Show 2010 firmly in our sights. We exhibited at the Flower show for the first time in 2009 when we went for maximum impact with the Bathwick Hill Gazebo in the main floral marquee.

Richard Baulch-Collette from Bath Parks and Green Spaces department did a wondrous job of dressing the gazebo with foxgloves  and the overall effect was really breathtaking.

In 2010 we’ll be exhibiting again at the show, taking a good selection of wrought iron benches, chairs, tables, gazebos, planters and garden structures. If you’ve never been before, do consider visiting the show, and make sure you come and see us! Find it in Victoria Park, in the centre of Bath from Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd May.
