Jake Storey

Jake completed a level 2 and 3 blacksmithing course before coming to Ironart for some work experience. Shortly after he was invited back to work full time.
His passion is forging joinery. He says he prefers to work on larger scale, with less embellishment and more focus on the mechanics of the joints. He cites Japanese joinery as an inspiration to try to achieve similar effects in steel. Wedge tenons are his favourite joint!
When he’s not on the forge he enjoys the precision of working on the lathe. A very different skill to hammering out hot iron!
In his spare time Jake can be found riding and building motorcycles from his much loved collection.
