This elegant long canopy structure was made for clients with a house in Tucking Mill near Midford on the edge of Bath. The unique design was inspired by the detail on a veranda they had seen on a property in nearby Freshford. One of our most experienced blacksmiths Jason Balchin led the team in our workshops while it was being made here at Ironart. There were some structural challenges with this project which incorporates a large 2.9m deep glass canopy and an aluminium rainwater system. The decorative cast iron circle and star details on each of the vertical legs were made for us by a foundry who matched our 3D printed design. The ironwork was galvanised and then finished in a colour which we matched to the windows of the house.
