Mudford Church Weathervane Restoration

We undertook the restoration of a cockerel weathervane at St Mary the Virgin Church in Mudford earlier this year for Sally Strachey Conservation. Sally and her team have blogged about the church restoration project here.

Ironart’s Martin Smith, and NHIG blacksmith Paul Ashmore, are pictured removing the cockerel from the church tower earlier in 2013. Paul was on a placement with Ironart through the NHIG (National Heritage Ironwork Group) and worked on this project alongside Martin.

We have worked on a wide number of historic iron and non-ferrous metal weathervanes over the past few years, many in conjunction with Sally Strachey and her team.  If you have a similar project in mind and want to talk it through, please get in touch.
