The Ironart team restored these lovely and unusual antique garden chair and bench set by French designer Francois Carre. Back in 2011 our team made a similar repair to a pair of Carre chairs in a very much sorrier state!
The chairs arrived with us here at Ironart from our client’s home in London and were carefully assessed. They were rusty and fragile, there were twenty straps that needed replacing. The Ironart team took out the rivits, removed any broken parts, renewed and refixed them as before. We sourced sections of spring steel for the replacement straps; spring steel is generally used when making saws.
